Sipsey Wilderness Father/Son - March 13-15, 2010

sipsey

The Sipsey Wilderness Area is considered the crown jewel of Alabama. Ancient rocks, secret waterfalls, and giant trees will remind you of a lost world. If you haven’t taken time before to explore this hidden land of rocks and water, now’s your chance!
Plan to leave Cove Church on Saturday morning at 7:00 for the 2 hour drive to Bankhead National Forest. We will follow a 12 mile route along the headwaters of the Sipsey River with a five mile day hike on Sunday. On Monday, after our last four miles in the wilderness, we’ll load up the trucks and head back to Huntsville with a lunch stop along the way. We should get back to town around 4:00 in the afternoon.
