Pacific Crest Trail Expedition

July 18-24, 2010

Deep, spectacular glaciated canyons filled with clear streams and waterfalls; Meadows overrun with wildflowers; High peaks and passes covered with remnants of last winter’s snows - the odds are stacked for an EPIC adventure!

We will begin this 5-day backpacking trip high on Sonora Pass, climbing south to the Sierra crest at 10,640 feet. For the first day, we will be in the Vulcan’s realm, complete with thick volcanic flows that buried most of the northern Sierra Nevada, until we descend in to Kennedy Canyon. Now the mountains change to the classic granite domes made famous by Ansel Adams’ photos. Moving through Walker & Grace Meadows, we reach the midpoint of our trip in Lower Kerrick Canyon. Next up is Seavey Pass (9150’) and then the trip’s low point, Benson Lake at 7500 feet. The last 2 days will produce steady gains up to the magnificent Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River. The shuttle will pick us up on HWY 120 under the shadow of Lembert Dome.

The Cost: $1600.00 per person
