Imagine…9 Days...8 nights… 80 miles...summiting the highest peak in the continental US! This is a 9-day, backpacking expedition on the High Sierra Trail from Sequoia National Forest to the summit of Mount Whitney. Late summer is the ideal time to hike the High Sierras when the weather is mild and dry, averaging 70’s at day and 40’s at night.
Qualifications:
You must be 18 or over and in excellent physical condition to make this trip. We will hiking at altitudes over 7,000 ft. every day, so you’re body will have less oxygen to work with. Intensive pre-hike conditioning will be essential and will be up to you. This is definitely not a trip for the mild at heart! Do You Have What It takes?
The Cost
$2000.00 per person includes:
- Guided 80 mile backpacking expedition
- EPIC spiritual briefings every morning
- Round trip airfare from Huntsville, AL
- First night lodging and breakfast at Montecito Lodge
- All airport transportation and hike shuttling for the trip
- Last night lodging and dinner at the Radisson in Fresno
This expedition will be available to the first 14 men who register on a first-come, first serve basis. We only have permits for 15 men total, per park regulations. A $500 deposit is due immediately to reserve your spot. All registrations must be in by July 1st, 2010. The $1,500 balance is due on August 1st. Airfare and lodging will be pre-arranged, so there will be no refunds. You may transfer your deposit and/or registration to another man if you are unable to travel. There must be a minimum of 10 people registered to take this hike.
Hike Leader: Chris Holden Chris has led many outdoor expeditions in the Smoky Mountains and the Appalachian Trail for men, women, and children. Every morning, there will be teaching on the lives of EPIC spiritual leaders from the Bible, both Old and New Testament. This will be his 3rd trip into the High Sierras of California.
